Today, a book that details all the basic knowledge about electricity.
Tesla To Toasters To Teslas… is a book containing a great amount authenticated detail, awesome wit and factual references, a lot of photos, and with portions bordering on a deep dive into TOE. Actually, the roots of this edition started with an earlier publication: What is Electricity? and where does it go when it leaves the toaster?
Introducing: T O E = Theory Of Electricity or almost the Theory Of Everything,,,
Let’s start,,, Tesla did not invent the toaster! The toaster was invented by Thomas Edison. Nikola Tesla discovered the benefits and power of alternating current vs direct current. And Edison never had steering wheels on his toasters and toasters never killed people (at least never reported), but now, when we hear ‘Tesla’, we immediately think ‘Electric Vehicle.’ Maybe today Edison would ask the question ‘can a Tesla make you any toast?’ If you dialed in the Ludicrous Mode, would you get flash-toast in 2.8 seconds?
Eddie Current, acting as the Ambassador of Power, will guide through this complex maze starting with the Theory of Electricity, and then on to the challenges of electricity and climate change.
We can imagine that growing up is a tough situation for electrons. Eddie Current at an early age of about 7 told his dad, Ready Kilowatt, that he wanted to be a pirate when he grew up. Dad was quite surprised ’cause most young electrons at that age wanted to be cowboys or firemen. Thank goodness dad did not take him seriously and set a schedule for peg leg surgery and an eye removal!
Then we will see the sophisticated electrical tools that we have at our ready hand, like a laser that can be used by surgeons in eyeball surgery or by the military in vaporizing tanks. The lesson we learn is that we need to create instruction manuals with instructions to change the power setting from “Vaporize Bulldozer” to “Delicate-Eye Surgery” depending on the task at hand.
The purpose of Tesla to Toasters to Teslas is to have some fun, laugh at some of the absurdities of the power companies, climatologists, our governmental bodies, and to gain a bit of knowledge about our transportation alternatives, storage possibilities, and alternatives.
